How is it Monday, again?!?!
This weekend was amazing, fireworks, lots of outdoor/water time, and of course yoga. Summer is in full swing now that the fourth has come and gone, do you feel like it is flying by so fast?
I have noticed and have been trying to keep focused on enjoying
each moment as they happen. Not getting caught up in taking a photo or capturing it for all to see, not getting ahead of myself about what is coming next, but just simply loving where I am at. Of course, you already know our yoga practice is like that, we have to be in the pose of the moment and not be ahead or focused on what’s to come. This is often why I skip out on sun salutations, opting for a fun kind of flow that isn’t necessarily predictable. You can’t zone out or shift into auto-pilot if you don’t know where you are going next.
This has been a focus in my vinyasa class for the last few weeks, even in my restorative classes (although, that is less difficult), no wonder this feeling has been seeping into my daily life. Sure, I love my routine (trucks and coffee, wha-what) and I know Bug relies on our “structure” (minimal as it is) too. Here’s the big BUT, it’s also ridiculously important to step out of the comfort zone and do some shit! Seriously, there is something really nice about trying something new or just doing the “usual” differently, so that you can really enjoy the moment. Life continues forward, no matter if you are actively taking it on (bull by the horns, fly by your seat of your pants style) or if you are causally standing around waiting for “it” to happen (or watching Housewives, not bashing! Trust me, I’m catching up on Glee right now), life is like an escalator, a people mover. Perpetual motion friends 🙂 Jump in, both feet and enjoy each day. Each moment to the fullest 🙂 even if you have no idea where you are going.
