Just a little patience…

“good things come to those who wait”-“they”

We like to tell ourselves that, that waiting is the best thing we can do to make “things” happen. I’ve often felt like this was the passive way or the ineffective “don’t want to make the effort” way to what you want. Not to say that I’ve always been proactive, but lounging around doesn’t seem to get you a job, make doing handstand easier, or make articles get written. Although, I do admit lounging around not doing much does allow the creative juices to flow, if I can remember what ideas I came up with while cloud watching 😉

Patience does have its virtue though. Like when you send in the job application or article submission, immediately emailingor calling to find out if you “got it” isn’t too wise. Same with being calm of mind to know that the second time you do crow, handstand, a vinyasa you won’t necessarily have “nailed” it, meditation for longer than a minute can be added to that list too. Of course, all this Paula in comparison for waiting for a baby to decide their day. like hot water coming to a boil, watching it doesn’t make it faster, it just infuriates the watcher when it doesn’t happen fast enough.

I’ve come to realize that it is when you surrender, not give up but give in that life happens at its own pace, that is when waiting pays off. It’s the trusting it will happen, in its own time, that the frustration dissolves. That the ease of it all, the expectation is lowered to it happening when it needs to, that is when it all falls into place.

So as I wait, still eating spicy foods and eggplant and do my daily yoga squats, I just am thankful that my expectations are not that it will happen today, but soon enough. Like a wall free handstand, in due time as long as I work towards it, hold space for it to happen, and enjoy the ride!

Basically, I’m still pregnant. I’m waiting, patiently and listening to a lot of G’N’R “Patience” plus all these fun things photographed

   Teaching, yea, still doing that!

 Lots of sunrises and sunsets!
Nesting at its best, putting together furniture

An adventure to the garden store makes everyone happy!    Found this! I love plumeria!

Hawaiian ice, our special after school treat on days with no “accidents”
Pre-dog walk tree pose, because I feel the need to capture these moments

Post baby shopping? Pretty sure I want this outfit once I have Brolly!!

  1. This was a great post, great topic for me – I always struggle with the “waiting” part of life. I get so excited about life that I just want everything to happen right away – unfortunately like most things rushed, it won’t always turn out how it’s supposed to if it’s rushed or forced. I believe that we shouldn’t be sitting around, we should be out living but like you said “not give up but give in that life happens at its own pace, that is when waiting pays off. It’s the trusting it will happen, in its own time, that the frustration dissolves. That the ease of it all, the expectation is lowered to it happening when it needs to, that is when it all falls into place.” Thank you for giving me extra inspiration to be patient!
