It’s been just Over a week since my birthday and life is so good. There has been a fair amount of yoga (teaching & doing), daily meditation (although I haven’t been using the insight timer each time), I finished “How yoga works”, and the weather has finally cooled enough for us all to enjoy some outdoor time.
This first week has been both incredibly busy and beautiful which is how I want all my weeks to feel. I have been writing more over at Gather Yoga and Nancy and I are finalizing the last round of eight limb//life before it starts on Sunday (still time to sign up $40, two weeks of prompts, loves, and yoga in everything). Mostly though, I have just been enjoying life.
What I really have discovered this week, nearly 3 months postpartum and a week after my 37th year is that I am stronger and more centered than I have ever been and that what I really love is living my practice. Y’all can keep your scorpion poses and flying pigeon arm balances, I will take parenting, meditation and forward folds as my yoga for now. My body is amazing but not at all ready for practices that require such acrobatics. So for now, legs up the wall and plank pose are as extreme as I am willing to do for asana, yet I’m aiming for that 20 minutes of meditation one of these mornings!
