Stepping up, bliss in all things

“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.”
― Ellen Goodman

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
― T.S. Eliot

img_3162good bye 2016, you’ve been something!

my friends, the new calendar year is here. i always feel torn about the new year, i feel like we are still in winter which is a time of internal processing, shifting and yet we have this big push for goals and resolutions. a new 365 days are in front of us and we can do with them what we would like.

i plan on using these first six weeks of the new year as a way to plot and plan, map and list out how i am going to follow through on my ideas. from writing another book with nancy alder (eight limb life interactive book is coming your way in 2017!!) to plotting out retreats to teaching at my first yoga conference in Houston, TX to spending my first nights away from the boys to traveling to hugging friends and sharing our laughter, tears, and working together to donating royalties to charities that make our world a better place. All these dreams will start with little steps and i am ready to take them. i am ready to take action.

as this new year comes in, i will plot and plan, brew and bake until spring finally arrives and i will bloom like the tulips, daffodils, and any other spring flower that pushes from the cold earth to be seen. i look forward to that bloom. my new year ideas are seeds planted now and will be watered, fed, and doused in sunshine. blooming takes work, courage to step into yourself, and stepping up to take action. how will you create 2017 to be your own?

xo,

liz
